Rumours say the Return Of UMD in PSP 4000

PSP 4000 to live alongside Go

Despite the arrival of the UMD-less PSP Go now just a couple months away, one rumour merchant is suggesting that a PSP 4000 is on the horizon, and will waltz into town with UMD carried on its back.
The PSP 4000 claim comes courtesy of an anonymous tipster known as Super_secret, who was nail on with his prediction of the PS3 Slim, even down to the addition of proper buttons. The tipster is now speculating that the PSP 4000 will replace the PSP 3000 rather than the incoming Go, so that both devices are on the market together.
Thoughts of a PSP 4000 appear to fit in nicely with comments made by Sony Computer Entertainment boss Kazuo “Kaz” Hirai who recently denied the death of the UMD affirming that Sony would continue to support the UMD and its distribution. On the other hand it does seem to conflict with comments made at the annnouncement of the PSP Go, that Sony were intending to ditch the discs ‘since the beginning.’
With the PSP Go likely to go head-to-head with the iPhone for your gaming attention, the rumour appears to have some solid and logical basis.
Super_secret did add as with the PS3 Slim foresight that the PSP 4000 will be, ‘Nothing to get over excited about.’
