Apple iphone 3.1 OS update now available

Apple puts some Genius magic into the App Store

At the Apple event tonight,Steve Jobs took to the stage to a standing ovation in California, saying he was "very happy to be here". Touching upon his liver transplant, he said "he wouldn't be here without such generosity" if it weren't for his organ donor, urging everyone to sign up.
Confirming that they've sold 30 million iPhones to date, Jobs credited the success to the 75,000 apps available on the App Store, with 1.8 billion downloads to date. iPhone OS 3.1 was introduced, with two new features, the first being the Genius functionality for smarter playlists.
The App Store can now make recommendations to users based on the apps a user already owns, using the Genius technology. Like music-related apps? Then Genius on iPhone OS 3.1 will recommend music apps to you, such as the new Spotify app.
Over 30,000 ringtones have been added to the iTunes store, priced at $1.29 each.
iPhone OS 3.1 is free for iPhone owners, and available today.
