Apple Planning to Launch New IPod Line on Sept 9
New iPod, anyone?
Motorola has given us an Android event to look forward to on September 10 but there's still the possibility of an Apple event just one day before that. While Apple has yet to confirm anything of the sort, AppleInsider claims to have it on good authority that Cupertino-based Apple will host an iPod event on September 9.
AppleInsider earlier reported that it could "independently confirm" that Apple would be introducing its 2009 iPod offerings at an event on September 9.
"People familiar with the matter say the Cupertino-based electronics maker had been teetering between Sept. 8 and Sept. 9 for weeks, but most recently indicated to its industry-related partners that the latter of the two dates would be more feasible."
However, while the prospect of new iPods is all well and good (rumored changes to the devices include the addition of a camera to both the iPod touch and the iPod nano), AI also reports that we could get our first look at iTunes 9. Reports over the last few weeks have included purported screenshots of the software, which is said to have Facebook, Last.fm, and Twitter integration.
