Apple not Supporting Developers; claims Sony

iPhone leaves developers out to dry, says Sony.
Sony has launched a stunning broadside at rivals Apple, accusing the company of failing to support developers who have produced gaming content for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Sony, whose own PSP Minis portal is preparing for launch, says the developers who have helped fill the App Store with over 13,000 games have been left "out in the wilderness" by Apple.
The PSP Minis project will allow users to download 3rd party mini games from a dedicated portal, making use of the PSP Go's new-found storage and lack of UMD-burden.
Sony Europe's Zeno Collaco says the project will support developers, taking a swipe at Apple in the process. He says: "Unlike the App Store, we’re looking to support everyone that develops for us, instead of leaving developers out in the wilderness. We’re not immediately interested in giving developers free access and no help.”
Mr Collaco told Develop that while the App Store attracts hobbyists who get lost in the shuffle amid the plethora of gaming content, PSP Minis will have a more professional feel.
He added: "PSP Minis is a different approach altogether in that we still have a professional environment – if you want to call it that.
“I’m not suggesting that iPhone developers are unprofessional, but I think that the App Store has attracted a number of hobbyists. Clearly, the PSP is designed for gaming."
