Sony working on PS3's other services for Christmas

Sony gunning for Xbox and Wii with spending blitz
Sony will go all guns blazing into the Christmas console war by bragging that the PlayStation 3 is reaching its full potential with a range of additional services its rivals simply cannot live with.
The company will spend £6m in the UK and £82m across Europe in an offensive marketing campaign that it hopes will see the console leap above the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii when the festive season rolls around.
The first ads will focus on the PlayStation 3's services beyond the original gaming spectrum, with the focus switching to the online downloadable tv and video content, the Blu-ray player and the imminent addition of the BBC iPlayer to the console's growing portfolio of services.
"Two years after its release, PlayStation 3 is realising its full potential." SCEE's UK Marketing Director told The Guardian. "The console is moving beyond gaming and gaming is moving beyond discs."
The move comes just days after Sony announced it will be launching a Slim & Lite version of the console, with UK release and pricing yet to be confirmed.
