Sony Reader Touch and Pocket editions Ready to hit the Market

Get your Touch on...
The long-awaited new touchscreen incarnation of the Sony Reader will finally be available to pre-order on Wednesday with a September 10th release date pencilled in.
The PRS-600 Touch Edition boasts a 6-inch screen, a stylus pen for making notes on your texts and an audio out. It also has a built-in Oxford Dictionary and additional SD card and Memory Stick slots for reams of storage. Now ebookers be able to get their hands on it for an RRP of £249.
The first touchscreen Reader, the PRS-700 announced at CES 2009, has not been widely available in the UK so this will be the a debut of sorts for the newer incarnation of the revolutionary device, following the success of the original PRS-505.
Alongside the PRS-600 is the Pocket Edition PRS-300, both of which were officially announced by Sony earlier this month. The pocket rocket is more modestly priced at £179, will feature a 5-inch touchscreen with enough space to store around 350 of your favourite texts and may be the more female-friendly option coming in pink and silver.
Stateside, Sony has just revealed the arrival of the Daily Edition Reader, which is the first in the range to boast a 3G connection for web browsing and downloading ebooks on the go. No news yet of a potential UK arrival, but we'll be keeping our noses close to the ground on that one.
