Sony Launches Cybershot TX1 & WX1

Sone does it again; according to the latest reviw by 't3.com' Two new mini compacts from Sony have just been unveiled, the Cyber-shot TX1 and WX1 compact cameras, both promising details snaps, even in the worst light and intriguingly, both able to capture that moment at a party when you and your mates are all smiling. No hands-on camera work required, which means more hands-free for holding the drinks.

Looks are certainly distinct, but when it comes to features, there isn't a lot between the pair. Both pack a 10.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, which Sony claims captures more light than conventional CMOS designs - and more of that means more natural, detail-packed images. Throw in Sony's BIONZ processor and both cams can take a continuous burst of those ultra-detailed snaps at 10 frames per second, which is quicker than many pro DSLR cameras. Ok, it falls down in many other ways against pro cams, but there's no denying, it's a tasty feature to have in your pocket.

Other selling points include a Sweep Panorama mode for extra-wide images, 720p HD movie clips and audio at 30fps, image stabilisation, Face Detection, Smile Shutter and optional Party-shot, a kind of tripod that automatically captures both you and your friends when all are smiling. It could put wedding photographers out of business overnight. The TX1 also offers up a large 3-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus touchscreen for easy navigation, while the WX1 bumps up the spec with a high-end f/2.4 Sony ‘G lens’ with 5x optical zoom and 24mm wide angle.
