Samsung Planning to rival Zune with Tegra chipset

Samsung is all set to launch a new media player called the Samsung M1, reports Cnet. The M1 is planning to compete with Microsoft’s Zune HD. Although this player has its own set of advantages, the Zune is no weakling. This fight will surely be worth a watch.

This player was officially displayed on the company’s Korean website last month. This Zune HD rival will also incorporate the Nvidia Tegra chipset. It also includes a 3.3-inch OLED touchscreen. This Tegra based player will feature Bluetooth audio capabilities and DivX video playback.

The notable features of the M1 include FM radio, photo viewer, text reader and integrated voice recorder. The memory of this media player can be expanded via a microSD card. The images of the M1 also indicate that it will incorporate a standalone Flash media player.

The Zune HD incorporates features like HD radio, Zune Marketplace integration, Xbox video compatibility and podcast player. These features render the Zune HD a tough competitor. We are still unsure whether it will be able to compete with the Zune. The pricing and availability details of the Samsung M1 are still under wraps.
