PS3 Motion Controller out by Spring 2010

Sony to steal a march on Project Natal?
Sony had made a few vague indications about the possible launch window for its upcoming Wii-too accessory, the PS3 Motion Controller. Early next year was the time we were expecting it and sure enough Sony Computer Entertainment head honcho Kazuo ‘Kaz’ Hirai has set it in stone.
Spring 2010 is when you’ll be wavering PS3’s oddly shaped magic wand around like a sword, tennis racquet, baseball bat, crossbow, ligthsaber – or whatever it is that the developers decide.
By the sounds of it, the technical side is nearly done: “One of the things is that we just don't want to put out the controller” Kaz explained in a recent interview. “We need a great software that supports the controller at launch. It's something that we've been working on for the longest time.”
Basically, Sony is making absolutely sure that its new controller comes backed up with as many games as possible to help it fight against Microsoft’s upcoming motion sensing rival, Project Natal.
Project Natal differs from Sony’s Motion Controller because it uses a 3D camera to track the player's movements, instead of just tracking the movement of a controller. It’s also got a much less firm release date – it’s expected in 2010, but that could be as late as Christmas.
Sony has already been caught out once this generation by Microsoft grabbing the first mover advantage. It looks like when it comes to motion control, it won’t be making the same mistake.
