Facebook 3.0 app for IPhone

The popular social networking app gets a spring clean

Facebook 3.0 has run the Apple iTunes App store approval gauntlet and emerged on the other side unscathed. The software which already counts 12 million users to its name has received a number of tweaks to improve both its looks and functionality.
Facebook has already published the full list of changes when it sent the latest update to do battle with the iTunes gods, and highlights include the ability to upload video (as long as you’re a 3GS user, that is), check out links with a built in browser and view the page in landscape mode.
Compared to Facebook 2.5, it’s a giant leap forward. The mobile version now apes its computer counterpart much more closely, so rather than just being able to look at the usual categories, you can tinker and manage them to your heart’s content. For example, you can create photo albums and add tags, make friend requests and swap your profile pic.
The Facebook app remains at the bargain price of £0.00 and if you already have an older version installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch, all you need to do is delete it and go get the new one.
So that makes two high profile apps to get the thumbs up this week. Are Apple’s App police on holiday or what?
