China Mobile & Lenovo to launch 3G Ophone

Via 'T3.com'; Chinese mobile users are set for a boost in their mobile data rates when China Mobile launches its first handset with the Ophone OS to feature a 3G connection.
The handset, which marries the popular OS with a quicker 3G connection, will be made by Lenovo and has been christened the O1 Phone, scarily similar to T3's own 01 Phone which caused a storm in the mobile market in 2008.
China Mobile, the world's largest carrier, has been chosen by the Chinese Government to pimp out its newly developed TD-SCMDA 3G standard, which has so far been slow to catch on, somewhat due to poor network coverage.
Hopes are that that Lenovo's sleek O1 Phone, with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, and the imminent launch of China Mobile's app store will see a dramatic take up in the service.
