NEW Logitech G13 Gameboard

The first of a range of Logitech’s new gaming peripherals, the G13 Gameboard has managed to put an interesting new twist on a gameboard that’s powerful enough to lure gamers away from their keyboards.
The G13’s mini joystick is part of the board’s overall appeal, being quite handy as most boards tend to lack this feature and in terms of dexterity. This mini joystick allows gamers extra movement to put key actions at a flick of the thumb, which is way faster than having to tap a key.
Adding to the coolness factor is that you can change the backlighting to quite a degree, being fully customizable, so you can program it to be purple, orange, dark blue, even pink if you like it. This very same screen can be used to display a timer, ingame stats (health, ammo etc) and even RSS feeds, making the board very multipurpose. Also, the programmable macros for the board are stored inside the G13 itself, so you can bring your settings with you.
The only complaint we find of here, is that the mini joystick takes quite a while to get used to, and pushing the joystick right seemed be put some strain on the thumb. Otherwise, the keys are excellent, being arranged in a concave curve and it is very comfortable to use, hours later we barely felt any strain at all.
While we don’t see the Logitech G13 becoming a staple for games everywhere anytime soon, given the amount of tech that has been stuffed into it, it is well worth the buy, even if you don’t have a massive MMORPG to use it on.
